    Job Description :

Artefact, a rapidly growing global AI and data consulting firm, is looking for a talented, energetic junior data scientist to join its emerging tech team at Artefact Germany. Will that be you?

Which tasks you take on with us:

You will be involved in the development of DS/ML models. For most of our assignments, we create, develop or maintain data science or machine learning models. These can include: models for sales forecasting, models for detecting CV products, production optimization, etc.

You will gain a wide range of data science experience. You are expected to work on a few assignments per year (1-3) that familiarize you with different industries, use cases, and technologies.

You will see how your work affects in practice. Unlike other companies that specialize in fancy fads, we specialize in creating solutions that can be used for years and actually make a difference for our customers. This also means that you will gain experience in dealing with customers and non-technical people.

You will work with state-of-the-art tools. Our stack varies from customer to customer, but is generally very modern - for example: GCP with Terraform, DBT, GitHub Actions, Palantir Foundry.

You could also do state-of-the-art research. In some specialized areas (e.g., marketing measurement), Artefact is a global leader in developing industry-leading practices, and we are still expanding strongly in these areas.

    What you bring:

You master a programming language (preferably Python, but also R, Julia, Scala, etc.).

You have in-depth knowledge of data processing, data modeling, algorithms and data architecture. That's the equivalent of a master's degree in data science, but we're flexible.

You have excellent problem-solving skills in dealing with data and can learn quickly.

You will be able to tell non-technicians about your work in English.

    "Nice-to-haves"

We don't expect you to meet all of these requirements, but you should bring at least a few of them:

You are familiar with SQL and have already performed complex data manipulations.

You have experience in the application of data science and AI in the real world, in production systems or with customer data.

You've created predictive and predictive models, especially with tabular data.

You have experience with clustering algorithms.

You have already done some NLP projects.

You do data science outside of notebooks.

You are familiar with MLOps practices.

You have significant software engineering skills that complement your data science knowledge.

You have good visualization skills (dashboards, SHAP...).

    Why ARTEFACT?
