As a Data Scientist, you will analyze large amounts of raw data to find patterns that will help improve our company, solve challenges and communicate actionable insights for our clients. We rely on you to build data products to extract valuable business insights. In this role, you are highly analytical with a knack for analysis, math and statistics. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential for interpreting data. We also want to see a passion for machine-learning and research. Your goal is to help our company and our clients analyze trends to enable better decision making. This is a hybrid position open for all nationalities. Our Headquarter location is in Muscat, Oman.
Responsibilities
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to assist with data-related technical issues and identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
• Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and other key business performance metrics.
• Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of data sources and data gathering techniques.
• Mine and analyze data using state-of-the-art algorithms on large datasets to extract trends and discovering patterns.
• Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data.
• Design and develop predictive models using machine learning algorithms to increase and optimize customer experiences and other business outcomes.
• Analyze the problem-solving capabilities and use-cases of machine learning algorithms and rank them by their success probability.
• Explore and visualize data for better understanding and identify differences in data distribution that could impact model performance when deploying it in real-world scenarios.
• Perform statistical analysis and fine-tune models using test results.
Skills
• Knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
• Advanced math and statistics skills (linear algebra, calculus, Bayesian statistics, mean, median, variance, etc.)
• Programming experience in Python, R, Java, C++, etc.
• Demonstrated experience working with large, complex datasets using scalable tools related to machine learning and big data.
• Strong ability to write complex, efficient, and eloquent SQL queries to extract data.
• Experience in working with database systems like SQL and NoSQL.
• Robust data modeling and data architecture skills.
• Experience in working with various machine learning libraries and packages like scikit-learn, Theano, TensorFlow,Keras, Matplotlib, Caffe, etc.
• Develop tooling and infrastructure that supports data scientists with model development.
• Problem-solving aptitude.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field; graduate degree in Data Science or other quantitative field is preferred.
