Qualifications

• University degree in computer science, engineering, applied mathematics or related fields and excellent academic record required; advanced degree preferred
• Familiarity with distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Dask), cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes), automation (e.g., CircleCI, Jenkins) and traditional RDBMS (e.g., MS SQL Server, MySQL)
• Technical experience in handling datasets working with at least one of the following object-oriented languages - Python, Scala, Java
• Conceptual clarity of statistical and machine learning techniques.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to disaggregate issues, identify root causes and recommend solutions
• Self motivated and able to work independently as well as in a cross functional team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in Japanese and English

What You'll Do

In this role, you will be at the intersection of data engineering, data science and software engineering providing support for client engagements across a variety of projects. The work includes extracting and transforming data, building data pipelines, establishing data and analytics cloud infrastructure, building models, deploying them in production, and supporting changes. You may also be responsible for presenting results to client leadership and implementing recommendations with client team members.

You will support development and maintenance of proprietary advanced analytics models or knowledge development projects and deliver high quality end products on time and perform quality checks wherever required.

You’ll be a part of our QuantumBlack Client Capability Network team in Tokyo providing analytics platform development and support to internal product teams as well as externally to clients in Japan and the region. The QuantumBlack team is composed of analytics translators, data scientists, machine learning engineers and data engineers who work across a variety of industries, functions and analytics methodologies to provide amazing impact for our clients. We are a hands on group of experts with a strong desire to serve clients and deliver impact using cutting edge technology.
