Title: Web Developer

Reporting to: Marketing and Strategy Manager

Type: 3-Month Contract - 3 Days per Week

FDM Solicitors is a busy multi-disciplinary practice based in Manchester City Centre who specialise in financial mis-selling, housing disrepair, data breach, fraud and professional negligence.

The firm is rapidly growing, and we are keen to recruit a Web Developer within our team to take on work assignments to maintain and enhance the already existing website. The ideal candidate will be familiar with working in a WordPress environment. The candidate must have the ability to work closely with a Project Manager in the development department as well as other key software specialists. The successful candidate will demonstrate a willingness to take on challenges and changing priorities and will be eager to learn new processes and technology to broaden their scope of responsibilities and their ability to work independently.

Main duties will include:

• Be able to manage multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously.
• Ensure project websites are built to meet performance, security, and functional requirements.
• Stay up to date on industry standards and incorporate them appropriately with special regard to current design trends in the legal sector.
• Test, debug, document, and overall quality assurance of website projects.
• Provide in-depth information regarding the analytics of the partners for reporting purposes.

Required experience

• Minimum 3 years’ experience with WordPress development and administration.
• Experience working with a variety of WordPress plugins.
• Knowledge of standard website development concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Ability to multi-task and plan proactively; accomplish goals in a timely manner as per given deadlines.
• Demonstrate strong oral/written communication and listening skills.
• Have a strong background in HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Proficiency in presenting information and work completed to end users and project organisers,
• Ability to demonstrate close attention to detail and accuracy.

Web Developer - Job Description

• Ability to work with minimal direction, yet able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Have demonstratable experience in creating usable, visually appealing, and functional websites on a variety of topics.

Preferred experience

• Experience working with APIs
• Experience working with WordPress Elementor plugin
• Experience working with hosting websites

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in a related Information Technology field highly desirable
