Responsible for planning and deploying Dimetra and Astro software releases across varying customer system topologies.
The role requires an in-depth knowledge of Dimetra and Astro infrastructure and the tooling & procedures used to deploy software upgrades.
To develop an optimal upgrade implementation plan aligned to the customer system configuration.
Share the technical aspects and impact timeline migration strategy with the customer and keep them aware of any changes required.
Apply the software to the system using the ESU tool whilst being aware of and minimizing the risk of service disruption to the operational mission-critical system.
Work with Dimetra and Astro support teams to resolve issues that arise, tracking each case through to a workable customer solution.
Leading role in communicating upgrade progress and incident resolution plans via discussions, formal reviews & written reports.
Form part of a small cross-functional team including a project coordinator, CSM, SE, and FE staff.
Required to travel to the customer location and work night shifts where required to minimize the outage impact on service operation.
Continuously apply a lessons learned methodology to find ways to improve quality and efficiency.
Basic Requirements
Candidate must have a minimum Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (IT) field of Information Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, electrical or telecommunication field
Minimum 3 years experience in Network Router configuration i.e. proficient in routing protocol, Network Address Translation, IPIP tunneling, VPN, Frame Relay and E1 WAN interface.
Minimum 3 years administration/operation experience in at least two of the following platform i.e. Unix, Virtual Platform and Windows Server OS.
Traveling is essential for this job scope. Typically spending a 2-week period at a customer location during the software migration phase of a project which may include working night shifts.
Fluent communication in English (written and verbal) is required.
Strong skills in problem analytical and systematic troubleshooting, with an understanding of customer impact.
Experience in providing technical support remotely
Able to manage customer situations effectively and set customer expectations appropriately
Resourceful self-starter able to manage priorities and tasks effectively and independently
Able to work well under stress and pressure from customer's demands.
Must be self-motivated and able to self-manage. Able to work in a continuously changing environment with an ability to continuously learn.
Experience working with Dimetra / Astro radio communications system infrastructure and radio configuration is preferred.
