Responsibilities

A day in the life of our Software Service Engineers ….

You will contribute to the service department's work, will be to use your software and electrical engineering skills. You will be working on the installation and maintenance of our machines and our product lines and your role will require you to be flexible travelling around 120-150 days a year to our customer sites.

• As part of our service team you will provide technical support to our customer especially on Software issues, and controls and process issues
• A consistent part of your support work will be performed remotely
• You will however be part of a team and assistance from office is there to support you
• As Software Service Engineer you will be troubleshooting on JBT machines, including parts identification and finding technical solutions
• From the beginning of a new project where you will install onsite to then the customer care of this machine once up and running, your role will care for the software maintenance and process control
• There is another side to an Engineering role at JBT and that is working with customers to promote our business, discussing upgrading of lines, replacement of parts and sometimes revamping existing machinery - the conversations you have with our customers will be key to identifying future needs and sales opportunities for us
• If you have worked in a food processing Engineering role previously this would be an advantage
• We are looking for a good team worker, but with the ability to independently operate.
• Someone with resistance and first-class customer care skills
   

Qualifications

Qualifications and Technical skills …

• Functional/technical skills required ideally with an Electrical and Software Engineering background
• Someone with a thirst for technical skills learning (as we relentlessly improve our offering to the customer)
• A technical degree in Electrical Engineering or Software certification would be excellent
• Knowledge of PLC controls preferably Siemens S7/TIA Portal
• The ability to communicate well in English is a must, Italian would be great, and another language (Spanish) would be advantageous.
