Job Description :

Software engineers at PropertyGuru are responsible for the technology ownership needed to build high-quality features and products that help millions of people in Southeast Asia find their dream homes.

You will be part of the Team that is responsible for implementing efficient, scalable, and maintainable cross-cutting micro-services & micro-frontend applications which are critical to the functioning of PropertyGuru’s PropTech business across marketplaces.

What you are expected to do

• You are a significant and autonomous contributor to your team who is trusted with designing, creating, delivering, and operating your team’s BAU systems in a consistently high-quality manner.
• When working on the systems within your team’s domain, you take into account the appropriate architectural patterns, code design, and infrastructure options, ensuring that you deliver a system that is secure, reliable, maintainable, extensible and very well tested.
• Beyond delivery to the production system, you will be responsible for post-deployment monitoring as well.
• In addition to being trusted to operate independently, you also maintain a good partnership with your technical and non-technical stakeholders(like product owners, and designers) for projects that you are involved in.
• You take an active role in your projects as a team member involved in product design to roll out, taking ownership of your work and constantly focusing on moving these projects forward.
• Being a decently experienced team member, you are also expected to continuously help the team grow and improve either by mentoring new or junior members of your team or by introducing and adopting process improvements or even by giving constructive feedback.

Expected Expertise

• You are proficient in at least one of these languages - PHP, Java, Javascript, Python, Golang.
• You are proficient in at least one of these relevant frameworks from your language of expertise - Symfony, Spring Boot, ExpressJS, Flask, Gin etc.
• You have certain exposure with frontend libs like React
• You know how to convert a design into pixel-perfect HTML and CSS/SCSS
• You know the basics of SEO or at least have applied SEO best practices before in your work
• You have worked on at least one backend project, where you have done end-to-end development- from planning API specs to delivering it; meaning you have a decent idea about backend systems, databases, caches etc.
• You have a decent grasp of basic algorithms and data structures - and you know where to apply what
• You care about code quality - write manageable, modular code with tests wherever needed(possibly share some of your codes available over GitHub/GitLab/any cloud repositories)
