    Job Description :

    Software Development

     

    • Design, code, test and install applications programs either in one major program or a range of programs across multiple platforms.
    • Produce estimates for routine development tasks
    • Assist in the analysis and design of applications programs and databases.
    • Undertake defect analysis for simpler defects. Modify and troubleshoot applications programs.
    • Provide support to clients during implementation, where required.
    • Maintain and update environments under direction.
    • Prepare and maintain systems and program documentation.

     

    Software Quality

     

    • Apply agreed standards and tools to achieve well engineered results
    • Test own or others’ code consistent with agreed standards and test protocols
    • Build and complete unit tests in accordance with SDLC methods
    • Develop and maintain reusable test artefacts using agreed tools/methodologies

     

    Product knowledge

     

    • Develop and apply an understanding of the user requirements and the product/s to deliver expected outcomes
    • Develop subject matter expertise in one or more relevant application modules/areas

     

    Contributes to the success of a high performing team

     

    • Participate in stand-ups and team meetings to bring up blockers and issues, share knowledge, share achievements, and provide training and direction.
    • Develop strong and effective working relationships
    • Effectively communicate information and insights to the team.
    • Ensure successful communication/work with all areas of the business.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement in project methodologies, processes and supporting tools to identify and implement improvement opportunities

    Essential

     

    Qualifications, Experience and Specialist Skills & Knowledge

     

    • 3+ years of experience in Programming and Applications development, coupled with tertiary qualifications in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
    • Developed skills in one or more of the major programming languages relevant to the role
    • Understanding of architecture and design standards
    • Demonstrated skills in personal work organisation and time management.
    • Ability to communicate effectively
    • Ability to work well within a team environment
    • Understanding of the software development lifecycle

     

    Desirable

     

    • Experience in an Agile environment
    • Ability to learn, change and adapt
    • Exposure to relevant test frameworks including TDD and BDD.
