As the ideal candidate, you would have previous experience working within a project environment. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge and professional experience as a Software Engineer in a multidisciplinary environment including an understanding of the software engineering lifecycle. Experience within an agile environment would be an advantage.
Create and participate in software planning and estimating, status monitoring and reporting
Devise new approaches, applying existing criteria in new manners and draw conclusions from comparative situations
Software design and development/prototyping and investigations
Software coding and unit testing
System integration and testing
Software documentation
Tools customisation and integration
User interface design and development
System release and deployment
Debugging.
This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and have a current NV-1 or greater AGSVA security clearance.

Experience working in a similar role within an engineering or project environment (preferably in a similar industry)
Strong ability to problem solve and troubleshoot
Good knowledge and application of a broad range of skills involved in the software engineering lifecycle
Any experience within systems and enterprise architecture, hardware engineering and interface protocols is desirable
Demonstrated ability in supporting the delivery of software products on time, and to a high standard of focus
Willingness to document and improve software development processes
Will have experience of the .NET development environment as well as Java development.
