Position Details

LINK Engineering is working on Rakuten services that deeply integrated with Rakuten ecosystem and other businesses that is used by millions of Rakuten users.

• Work with the team consisting of product managers and engineers to create pragmatic products.
• Help to design and develop highly scalable, available, high performing and consumer friendly APIs and associated Unit Tests to ensure quality of code.

Work Environment

The LINK Engineering Section consists of over 150 engineers working in multiple locations in Asia and Europe.

The team is established from many different cultures from around the world, bringing a unique feel to the team and the way we work.

Mandatory Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience using Java Spring / Jakarta EE
• 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design of existing or new systems
• Experience writing unit and integration test.
• Experience in API development with understanding for API design and best practices.
• Experience in database/storage technologies:
  • Relational (such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc)
  • NoSQL (such as MongoDB, Cassandra)
• Conversational level English

Desired Qualifications

• Experience in designing and implementing Microservices Architecture.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with building High Performance and High Availability APIs.
• Kotlin, Spring Boot, Node.js knowledge is a plus.
• Experience using queues and pubsub messaging systems.
• Front end web development knowledge with modern frameworks (React, Vue, Angular) is a plus.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling (e.g. TeamCity, Jenkins, CircleCI, Travis)
