YOUR OPPORTUNITY
A brand-new, permanent role has become available for a Software Developer to join the Grant Thornton Applications Development team.
You will apply technical expertise and effective stakeholder management skills while providing high-quality development services across our application landscape, playing a key role in the specification, development, maintenance, testing and deployment of software solutions. You will also build upon and optimise existing enterprise systems as part of the ongoing software development lifecycle.
Design, build, enhance, maintain and support both web- and desktop-based applications
Manage and monitor the progress of the application lifecycle to ensure that necessary updates are completed on time and according to requirements
Oversee performance of applications and address functional issues as necessary
Collaborate on the creation and maintenance of supporting documentation for the organisation’s software solutions
Foster a continuous improvement culture, making improvements to the overall application development process and looking for ways to enhance our applications
Adopt best practice for DevOps, following Agile processes and adhering to contemporary security principles
As an accomplished and experienced developer, you’ll enjoy autonomy and freedom for innovation within a collaborative environment, actively contributing to the knowledge-sharing atmosphere of the team by providing technical mentorship to less-experienced team members.
So that coaching and development opportunities can be effectively provided to other members of the Applications Development team, the successful candidate will ideally be based in Melbourne; however, exceptional interstate candidates will also be considered. As part of the firm’s flexible approach to working, hybrid and work-from-home options are also available.
Required
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent / higher qualification(s) in Information Technology, Software Development or other relevant discipline
Significant software development experience, gained within a commercial setting
Demonstrated proficiency with .NET (C#), SQL Server, JavaScript and front-end frameworks such as Angular, AngularJS or React
High-level written and spoken communication and stakeholder management skills
Desirable
Experience in the use of Salesforce CRM
Experience with Agile software delivery methodology (Kanban, Scrum etc.) and CI / CD build / deployment using Azure DevOps
Experience with project and issue tracking software, such as Atlassian Jira
