    Job Description :

    The Role

    Job Purpose:

    Provide support to Shell’s OUs by updating the drawings through Hexagon SPPID drawing management systems and by converting the vendor package to SPPID Drawings.

    Candidate primarily works on SPPID, SP3D, AutoCAD.

    Business Dimensions:

    The role is expected to be the expert in Smart Plant P&ID modeler & SPPID administrator and closely engage with an OU in updating the technical specification & suggest improvement solutions for improving the overall quality of work. Also provide training and guidance to other drafters while replicating best practices from stakeholders and partner organizations.

    Principal Accountabilities:

    • Act as an individual contributor who can act as both designer and admin on specified project.
    • Installation of oracle database and creating table spaces and adding oracle services.
    • Creation of project hierarchy, template and symbols and new line types as per requirement.
    • Implementation and Customization of Data dictionary manager, Options manager Format manager and Filter manager.
    • Setup/customize SmartPlant P&ID (SPPID) projects as per client/project requirements, including customization of symbology, report running and customization, procedure writing and coordination.
    • Providing the user access and preparing new libraries.
    • Create drawing templates as determined by DEP Standards.
    • Implementation and Customization of Reports like Pipe line, Equipment and instrument list as per project requirement
    • Trouble-shoot and solve P&ID problems and provide assistance to P&ID designer.
    • Support the set-up of the tag naming convention within SPPID.
    • Maintain daily project backups and trouble shooting.
    • Training and demonstration of the smart plant P&ID suite to new users.
    • Establish and maintain project specific access user groups to include Citrix access.
    • Coordination with P&ID Process and Building Services Lead to receive all necessary data for SPPID customization. (Lead Sheets and Tag Naming Conventions)
    • Interface/coordination with SmartPlant (SP) Instrumentation, SP 3D, SP Electrical administrators.
    • Produce setup documentation detailing the SPPID setup.
    • Develop detailed project work instructions for users.
    • Develop detailed Quality Check instructions for users.
    • Develop and Manage Project Work Instruction and Job Notes.
    • Produce documentation detailing the SPPID data base change during the project life.
    • Audit SPPID projects to ensure projects integrity and proper system operation all along the project life;
    • Set up maintenance programs to be run (delete orphan items, repair relationship command, constraint report, etc.);
    • Set up for publishing to SmartPlant Foundation
    • Interface with P&ID designer leads, discipline leads, projects managers on projects.
    • Identify and provide specific training for new project members in cooperation with the P&ID designer lead.
    • Prepare database and 2D drawings for client turnover.
    • Maintain the SPPID reference database for projects including transfers, data extraction reports, data integrity, etc. including the customization of reports and database back up as per project requirements.
    • Load and Maintain Design Software to include support software

    • The role primarily involves the remote support to the Shell operating units/sites in the drawing management & updates.

    Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience

    Education/Experience:

    Chemical/Process/Mechanical/Industrial/ Piping Engineering Degree with at 6-9 years of work experience

    • Oil & Gas/ Petrochemical Industry - operating assets and/or a varied range of brownfield projects.
    • A minimum of 6 years’ experience in Designer and Administrator in SmartPlant P&ID.
    • A diverse design experience, particularly with typical engineering/construction projects, and strong supervisory and excellent computer skills.
    • Knowledge in Information Management and Integrated Engineering Systems processes and principles
    • Familiar with international codes, standards, recommended practices, and knowledge level in Shell Dep will be added advantageous.
    • Chemical/Process design & technical disciplinary drawings in design, drafting & engineering firms/ consultancy firms/ plant environments/industry past the professional degree/diploma.
    • Result oriented with goal setting for self and team.
    • Leadership skills and team engagement.

    Highly Preferred skills are:

    • A strong knowledge in Hexagon/AVEVA suites and Digital twin.

    • Excellent stakeholder management with business interface exposure
    • Strong interpersonal leadership skills are critical due to the requirement for effective communication of complex issues across multiple offices and teams.
    • Expertise in pipe modeling and facility layouts.
