Job Description :

We are looking for an experienced Python Developer to join our wider technical community.

Responsibilities:

• Leading the delivery of technical solutions as part of a team
• Defining technical solutions and reviewing solutions of other team members
• Eliciting and documenting system functional and non-functional requirements
• Regularly demonstrating work to stakeholders, users and senior leaders
• Developing strong working relationships with peers across engineering and architecture teams
• Driving adherence to relevant processes, procedures and standards
• Mentoring and constantly improving other team members
   

The Successful Applicant:

To be successful in this role your skills should include:

• Commercial experience of software development in Python with APIs
• Working knowledge of modern Python frameworks (e.g. Django, Flask)
• Strong understanding of software engineering patterns and design principles
• Testing frameworks (e.g., Robot, unittest, PyUnit)
• Use of source control (e.g., git, Subversion, Mercurial)
• Experience with CI/CD solutions, build tools
• Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases
• Agile software development & delivery lifecycles
   

Desirable Skills:

• Leading distributed teams towards engineering best practices
• Working directly with customers and end users
• Comfortable discussing solutions with Stakeholders and Senior Leaders
• Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
