    Do you have hands on Network Security, Firewall and cloud skills? Are you able to apply a pragmatic approach whilst still ensuring requirements are met?

    We are hiring Network Security Engineers (internally known as Cyber Defence Engineers) to perform the role of a technical network security design SME, providing domain expertise in the security technologies platforms such as proxies, firewalls, WAF’s, IDS/IPS and logging & monitoring.     Who you’ll be working with:

    You will sit within the Cyber Defence & Automation Squad aligned to the Security and Resilience Centre of Expertise, and will play a key role in defining, maintaining and ensuring the integrity and consistency of end to end network security solutions.

    As the face of Security to business Tribes, you will be charged with building relationships and ensuring security requirements are integrated into all squad changes and initiatives.

    With over 10,000 employees and nearly 10 million customers, that’s a lot of information to keep safe. We have a huge range of technologies available, as well as the opportunity to work with a range of cross-functional specialists in a dynamic and an ever-changing environment.

    What you'll be doing:

    • Facilitating and implementing Firewall Service Requests (FSR) and participating in all aspects of the FSR\NDR (Network Design Request) process.
    • Ensuring security technical platforms are configured to optimise the overall security offered to DLG.
    • Making sure that all changes to the production environment and firewall rule changes have been reviewed and approved to open limited ports required for services to function.
    • Communicating and building relationships at various levels with an ability to discuss deep technical concepts with counterparts from our suppliers but also communicating at a higher level with project managers and programme leads to convey the processes and timings of programme and project delivery.
    • Developing technical security standards and ensuring all changes are in line with the network security architecture, ISMR’s and adhere to PCI/DSS standards and any other regulatory requirements.
       

    What you'll need:

    • Network infrastructure knowledge, with detailed knowledge of routing, TCP/IP and Internet protocols
    • Comprehensive knowledge and practical experience with security technologies such as Firewalls and Proxies
    • Extensive knowledge of security management principles and practices for network security
