Mobile Engineer I

The Marketplace Core Experience Engineering Team focus on development of experience APIs layer and Shared-UI across EG’s Platform, Brands and LOBs.

We use cutting-edge technologies to create amazing user interfaces that enable our customers to get the best online travel experience and engagement when using our mobile Apps and websites. We do support launch of new products to enhance our Loyalty offer and reward customers always more.

What You Will Do

• Collaborate with team members to co-develop and solve problems.
• Partner and learn from subject matter experts to develop knowledge.
• Apply knowledge of system and technology integration and the basic features and facilities involved in the integration process.
• Apply software design principles, data structures, algorithms, and computer science fundamentals to write code that is clean, maintainable, optimized, modular with good naming conventions.
• Execute tasks and/or provide data to support implementation of holistic solutions that forge linkages between structure, people, process, and technology.
• Apply formal training methods to current workload.
• Report clearly on current work status.

Who You Are

• Bachelor's or Masters degree in a Technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.
• Drive continuous improvement and continuous delivery in our software development process within an agile development team.
• Write automated unit, system and acceptance tests as appropriate to support our continuous integration pipelines.
• Translate functional specifications into logical, component-based technical designs.
• Knowledge of collaborative interface design tools (eg. Figma)
• Experience working in an iOS environment and/or Android
• Experience developing features in Swift or Objective-C for iOS or developing in Kotlin/Java or using Jet Compose for Android
• Knowledge of API service connection paradigms and patterns
• Solid Understanding of client/server architectures
• Understanding of mobile development standard methodologies
• Excited to pick up, learn and run with new technologies and frameworks such as Swift UI, Kotlin, Jet Compose, and GraphQL
• Demonstrates familiarity with associated technologies within their specialization as part of the wider ecosystem. Example - CI/CD, Git, Github Actions
• Understanding of software development theory and design.
• Understanding how the different functions created fit into team projects.
• Able to understand lower complexity systems.
• Demonstrates an understanding of Testing, monitoring and alerting.
• Ability to debug code.
