About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a business that has its sights firmly set on growth. We are looking for junior software engineers that are looking to be part of a software engineering team that build and run innovative products. Our teams strive to deliver engineering excellence by using software development best practices in their day to day work. This is a great entry level role and the ideal candidate will have some limited commercial experience as a software engineer or have just completed their studies in software engineering.

What you’ll do:

• Designs, codes, verifies, tests, documents, amends and refactors Infomedia's software product.
• Applies agreed standards and tools, to achieve a well-engineered result.
• Creates and documents detailed designs for software applications or components by applying agreed modelling techniques, standards, patterns and tools
• Work under the supervision of a senior software engineer or a technical lead.
• Interact effectively with other developers, architects, product managers, User Interface designers, testers, and production engineers to improve software design and quality

What you’ll bring:

• Bachelor of Computer Science degree or equivalent academic qualification
• Knowledge in object-oriented software development languages such as Java or .NET
• Good understanding of software design patterns such as the Gang of Four (GOF) design patterns
• Good understanding of database design principles
• Strong desire to learn and adapt-to new software techniques
• Exceptional communication skills & strong work ethic

Desirable skills and experience:

• Professional experience in software development in a commercial setting
• Experience with Spring framework
• Experience with NoSQL/Document databases
• Experience with cloud technology
• Understanding of Agile methodologies
