One of the teams is a home to a number of innovative initiatives that will help expand the bank’s services to its clients in Japan. This team also includes a number of domestic facing technology teams including Asset Management, Investment Banking, Finance and Operations.

Job Description

Working as a full stack engineer within the Finance Technology team on application support, development and enhancement of our in-house built application suite along with vendor platforms. The applications are used globally across the firm, with a large regional client base across India, South East Asia, China and Japan.

The role would give exposure to our clients, business transformation and the full SDLC, including ability to up-skill new best practices, and reengineer our applications into the cloud.

Responsibilities

• Provide full stack engineering capability across all our technology platforms
• Acquire knowledge on existing architecture and daily operations of application.
• Develop based on priority of business + IT CRs.
• Structured approach and ability to multitask and prioritize according to demand and urgency.
• Build automated test harnesses & framework
• Provide L3 support, where necessary including out of hours

Requirements

The candidate will build genuine stakeholder relationships in order to comprehend and clearly expresses complex ideas in simple industry-standard visualizations and terminology, leading to innovative execution plans to propel forwards both the firm’s data projects and their own career.

Mandatory

• .Net programming ( Strong in WCF, micro services, ASP.Net)
• Hands-on experience on React (Typescript ).
• Strong, hands-on knowledge of T-SQL & PL/SQL
• Experience with Unix batch scripts, Job schedulers, design patterns – (MVC / MVVM)
• DevOps Experience

Mandatory

• Degree holder in Information Technology or equivalent; technical background is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as developer within software development.
• Ability to act quickly and work independently in fast-moving and time sensitive financial / regulatory reporting environment.
• Ability to think logically and calmly under pressure.
• Ability to quickly adapt with high level of professionalism in team oriented environment.
• Team player that is able to work with people across different departments, countries and regions.
• Language proficiency: English [Mandatory] + Japanese [Preferred]

Preferred

• Business level Japanese, fluent or native Japanese for both verbal and written communication highly preferred
• Experience developing applications for public/private/hybrid clouds
• Development experience of any of these technologies
• Snowflake
• AWS cloud
• Linux/Unix Shell Scripting
• NoSQL/columnar databases
• Messaging systems, e.g. Kafka, Solace or Pulsar
• Distributed computing frameworks, e.g. Apache Hadoop, Spark

• Practical experience of enterprise Change and Incident Management (ITIL or similar)
