About the Role
Datacom's Local Government product team creates and maintains innovative software products used by councils across New Zealand and Australia.

This Software Developer role is to work across the tech stack on a product that includes a mobile app for Android and iOS, a secure web portal, API layer and spatial database among others.
 

What you'll bring

• Experience with spatial databases e.g. PostGIS
• Experience Building and running .NET Core applications on Docker containers
• AWS RDS, Secrets Manager and Containers
• Git
• Experience with Google Firebase and Apple APNS remote notifications
• Azure DevOps Pipelines

Responsibilities

• Participating and providing feedback in technical and UX design discussions, taking a thoughtful, open and evidence-based approach to discussions and decisions.
• Documenting technical solutions to the team's agreed level of detail and keeping this documentation current.
• Coding and configuring solutions across the technology stack, including writing unit tests, taking feedback from and contributing to pull request reviews, functional and technical testing.
• Keeping the team's work tracking tool up to date to accurately reflect the state of the solution in development and to keep work-in-progress to an acceptable level.
• Working with build and release pipeline configuration and processes, environment management and release management and deployment.
• Working with QA to support testing, diagnose and fix defects and issues.
• Working with the Support Team to provide technical support where needed for production issues and customer queries.
• Supporting implementation activities on occasion as needed.
• Participating in planning and prioritisation sessions, reviews and retrospectives, providing considered and constructive input
