The Dojo Product Design team is part of the Product & Engineering group responsible for building a learning platform that our customers will obsess with and love to use.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join our Product & Engineering group and help us craft unique experiences on our Dojo Platform. You will be someone passionate about taking ownership of a broad, evolving problem space and rely on your technical expertise to guide us through product development.

You will own the technology and architecture strategy for Dojo Platform.

In addition, you will be working closely with our Product Designers to craft PoCs that will allow them to perform usability testing and gather user feedback before we commit our engineering resources to a solution.

Ideally, you will be someone who will be a strong advocate for modern development practices and achieving our vision of staying 'highly aligned and loosely coupled' across our squads.

This position will report to the Head of Product in Dojo. You will have the opportunity to influence product strategy and design for our product lines.

Responsibilities

• Help increase the performance and productivity of your team by raising ideas on how to improve their internal processes and collaboration
• Mentor engineers to foster their technical growth via direct coaching, code reviews, and pair programming
• Be a technical advisor in your team
• Translate customer problems into actionable solutions by collaborating with our Product Designers and Product Managers
• Lead our post-mortem and incident management processes to ensure the product that we developed meets the quality, reliability, and stability that our users expect
• Represent the team through both internal and external sharing on technical topics, events, or conferences
   

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building SaaS applications using modern programming languages, frameworks, and technologies
• You possess a strong understanding of software architecture (Pub/Sub, queues) patterns, security, and other standards (REST APIs, OWASP, HTTP, JSON, TLS)
• You have experience with React, Vue, or other front-end frameworks
• You have experience with AWS (EC2, S3, RDS) and other cloud-based services
• You can readily show examples of taking ownership of building large and scalable systems with increasing complexity
• You have a strong desire to work autonomously and collaboratively
• Comfortable with speaking and presenting in English at a professional level
   

Preferred Qualifications

• You have some experience with Python-based web frameworks such as Django
• A plus if you have some experience in working with streaming video pipelines and scaling them
• A plus if you possess a some understanding of implementing solutions with LTI (Learning Tool Interoperability) and MUX protocols
• You love to mentor an upcoming generation of software engineers and keep their working environment fun
