This role will support the development and optimization of actuarial models and tools currently being used today and re-platform them to more efficient software (e.g. Python, R, SQL, etc.) in order to bring about time savings and improve the quality of the deliverables.
Job Responsibilities
Software development to enhance, automate, and redefine actuarial workflow and processes. This is to assist in the production for various types of Actuarial reporting
Write structured, clean, scalable, and in-line documented Python applications
Coordinate with Actuarial team to understand requirements and develop solutions
Perform developer acceptance tests and assist the user teams in performing User Acceptance Test
Manage and create documentation for the tools, strategies, and data pipelines
Job Requirements
Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Computer Science, or related field
Knowledge in programming software (e.g. Python, R, SQL, etc)
Knowledge in actuarial software is an advantage
Strong unit test and debugging skills
Understanding accessibility and security compliance
Understanding of multi-process (define, design, create) cloud architecture and the threading limitations of Python
Knowledge of Prophet and stochastic modelling is an advantage
Strong analytical and numerical skills
Excellent attention to detail
Must be able to work independently and manage workload accordingly
Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills
Open, proactive and willing to challenge when necessary
Fluency in English and Cantonese is essential
