Our team aims to create more value between buyers and sellers by improving the shopping experience of the stores and services offered in Woven City.

We will be able to provide buyers with a more optimal and comfortable purchasing experience, and sellers with support that is close to the business they are aiming for.

We are looking for someone who has a strong sympathy for the project and the mission of the team, respects the team members and other stakeholders, explains their opinions, and can achieve it with high technology.

Our team is still in its infancy. Therefore, although there are many things to do, there are many cases where the method has not been decided. We welcome anyone who enjoys the challenge and has the courage to fail correctly.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for an engineer in backend services. In this role you will design and implement microservices, but not only that you will also decide development policies and processes as a senior engineer. You are required to explain your decisions clearly. And you will communicate with the other teams to build the shopping system. Many services need a shopping system, so you will be able to know other services in Woven City. Sometimes you are expected to have extensive knowledge of Japanese business practices and financial services. Woven City is a unique project, so nobody knows what to do to succeed. We need to fail early and work tenaciously with a positive mind.

Responsibilities

• Almost all of the process of backend software services Dev/Ops
• Create and continuously refine a product road map
• Work with multiple teams across the organization to turn a high level vision and into actionable requirements
• Build and manage a team of software engineers for development and testing process
• Communicate with other team to discuss about integration
• Communicate with Business Team to discuss about product and prioritization

Skills / Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related fields
• 5+ years of work experience in backend development.
• Experience in technology selection(Language, Framework, Tools, Services)
• Proficiency in business-level English and Japanese.
• Experiences in using various development tools and facilities for efficient team development.
• Experience and knowledge of Version Control System(CVS, SubVersion or Git), Project Management Tool(GitHub, Redmine, Jira) , Cloud services(AWS, GCP, Azure, Aribaba), Docker, and experiences in similar tools will be considered.
• Software development experience and knowledge in Java or Serverside Kotlin.

Preferred Skills / Experiences

• Experience and knowledge of HTTP(S) like REST(Web API), gRPC, Websocket
• Experience and knowledge of asynchronous communication protocols like Kafka, AMQP
• Experience in processes ranging from requirement definition to operations
• Experience and knowledge of RDBMS / NoSQL
• Experience and knowledge of Kubernetes
