As a Backend Engineer Team Lead, you bring a wide and deep understanding of technical knowledge. You will lead the technical team, design & implement product features and solve complex technical problems. Your work is vital to building VROOM solid foundation, which is important to product success in the highly competitive video conference market.

Our role and responsibilities:

• Work in an agile team to build / develop features and technologies across various aspects of Java (Kotlin), Golang and C++
• CI/CD deployments on a Kubernetes based platform, both on premises and on a multi-cloud infrastructure.
• Possess an understanding of cloud-native architectures, and familiar with implementations involving service discovery, circuit breakers, client side load balancing, and other architectural patterns related to elastic infrastructure.
• Coach & guide junior team members toward high standard of work
• Conduct design and code reviews.
• Provide technology expertise to help drive innovation.
• Identify emerging technologies to innovate video conference products
• Work with engineering team to design software architecture that leads to high performance, stability and scalability
• Keep track of new/emerging technology and make suggestions for improvement

Our requirement:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a similar field.
• 10+ years of relevant working experience, with 2+ years of team management experience
• Experience in building mission critical applications from scratch, and decomposing monolithic applications into micro services.
• Experience with a broad mix of technologies, including a strong subset of:

- Core Java / Kotlin

- C/C++

- Golang

- Kubernetes

- NoSQL (Redis, MongoDB, ELK)

- Kafka

- API Gateway (Kong)

- OIDC/SSO (Keycloak)

- WebRTC

- XMPP (Prosody)

- Linux

- CI/CD (Gitlab, Git)

- Network Programming

- Video streaming experience with VDO & Audio codec (vp8, v9, av1, etc.)

• Experience with distributed architectures, SOA, microservices and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS).
• Experience with Agile methodology.
• Experience with high availability, scalability, and performance systems.
• Familiarity with containers and their technologies such as Docker.
• Familiarity with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes.
