About the Role:

As an API Developer at Data Action, you will need to have a passion for working on cloud platforms. You’ll be empowered to deliver practical solutions that solve real-world problems for customers.

The API Developer is responsible for designing and developing software solutions to a range of business problems. This consists of mainly routine maintenance and feature development of existing products but will also involve building new products and stand-alone applications for projects as they arise. The nature of Integration Services requires the API Developer to have a sound understanding of a broad range of systems within DA, and a commitment to improving efficiency and outcomes for customers, internal departments, and within the API team itself.

You will be involved in the full Software Development Lifecycle where you will develop, test, and deploy code in a variety of programming environments. This role will see you support the build and management of the backend infrastructure, implementation of new features in a highly collaborative environment with product managers, solution architects and engineers.

You will be responsible for:

• Contributing to a maintainable, high quality, and performant codebase
• Effectively communicating your technical solutions and product ideas with the team
• Interpreting broad business requirements, and providing innovative solutions
• Performing system enhancements and defect resolution including support and project related enhancements
• Supporting business critical systems to uptime and performance expectations and drive constant improvements
• Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and recommendations, subject to external audit.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• A minimum of 4 years’ experience in similar role
• Have deep knowledge of software development best practices (e.g. agile software development, continuous deployment, behaviour-driven development, code review, design documentation, infrastructure as code, etc.)
• Developing software for a Microsoft platform, for example ASP.NET MVF, WCG or SSIS
• Desirable experience includes development on AWS, REST API design, ASP.NET MVC tools for web application development and application support, WCF, HTML, JavaScript and CSS
• Exposure to the banking and/or financial services industries would be beneficial, but not essential.
