    Job Description :

Artefact, a rapidly growing global AI and data consulting firm, is looking for a talented, energetic Junior Analytics Engineer to join its emerging tech team at Artefact Germany. Will that be you?

Which tasks you take on with us:

You will create data visualizations. You will either work with raw data or with the results of our models. Depending on the business context, you'll find the right visualizations that tell the right story.

You communicate your results to customers and other stakeholders. Even as a junior employee, you may have a lot to do with customers. Under the supervision of a more experienced person, you'll create presentations that transform your data analytics into engaging, nuanced narratives.

You gain important insights and formulate recommendations from your data analyses. We see data analysts as a mix of data scientists and business consultants.

You could be responsible for the quality and integrity of the data. For some tasks, you have to take responsibility for the data, even though a technical team will support you.

You will learn how to set up ETL tools independently. While we don't expect you to be able to do that from the start, we make sure you're able to use visual and programmable ETL tools so you don't have to rely on data engineers. You will also learn the basics of data processing and cleansing.

You will learn how to interpret ML models. Our team of data scientists and engineers will need help understanding the results of predictive and clustering algorithms. With Artefact, you can learn to interpret SHAP values, understand Bayesian networks, and apply other advanced techniques.

You will gain a wide range of experience in data analysis and management consulting. You will be expected to work on a few missions per year (1-3) where you will learn about different industries, use cases and technologies. Even within a mission, your daily tasks can be very different!

You will work with state-of-the-art tools. Our stack varies from customer to customer, but is generally quite modern – GCP with Terraform, DBT and Google Data Studio, to name just one recent example.

    What you bring:

You are very good at SQL.

You are excellent at understanding and interpreting data. In general, we expect a real data culture from you: you are familiar with database concepts, you can perform SQL queries, you know how to process numbers and strings manually, you know how to think critically about KPIs and measurements...

You learn quickly, know where to look for information, and how to ask for help.

You will be able to talk about your work in English with both technical and non-technical people.

    "Nice-to-haves"

We don't expect you to meet all of these requirements, but you should bring at least a few of them:

You can write SQL queries that are correct and efficient.

You have experience working with production systems or customer data.

You know how to clean and process data, either manually or with a special tool.

You have experience with various visualization tools: PowerBI, Tableau, Google Data Studio, QuickSight, Looker, etc.

You worked with Palantir's Foundry tool.

You've worked with ETL tools: DBT, Delta Live Tables, Stitch, Azure Data Factory, Data Fusion, Informatica...

You are proficient in Python or a data-related programming language (Scala, R...).

You are well versed in database systems and know how to best set them up for specific use cases. You know how to design a data schema.

You have worked with data warehouse/data lake solutions (BigQuery, Snowflake, etc.)

You have extensive experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).

You have experience in data science and are familiar with the mathematical basics of ML models.

You have experience in software development.

You've worked in Agile/Scrum environments and are familiar with tools like Jira.

You know how to integrate your work into a technical repository (with Git, pull requests, documentation, etc.)

You've worked with Google Analytics data in the past.
