AP EAMCET 2026 Exam Date, Complete Schedule, Preparation Tips, & FAQs

Home  /  Blog  /  AP EAMCET 2026 Exam Date, Complete Schedule, Preparation Tips, & FAQs

AP EAPCET 2026 (traditionally known as AP EAMCET) is the state-level exam for admissions to undergraduate courses. This exam is conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) and remains the ultimate gateway for students. It controls access to premier Engineering, Agriculture, and Pharmacy seats across Andhra Pradesh.

As of June 2026, the official exam phase for the AP EAPCET has concluded. The state council, APSCHE, recently confirmed that the 2026 results are rescheduled for June 18, 2026. Such a critical postponement enables the evaluation committee to incorporate scores of Intermediate Advanced Supplementary and Betterment scores properly. The integration helps save thousands of students from any sudden drop in their rankings under the state's strict composite weightage calculation.

While most platforms provide the basic dates of the exam but fail to address real student anxieties, such as the exact impact of the 25% Board Marks weightage or specific dress codes for online centers. In this article, we will discuss the schedule of AP EAMCET, marking patterns, weightage shifts, preparation routines, and practical rules for the exam-day that will help you rank high.

Important Dates of AP EAPCET Exam

The computer-based test (CBT) was conducted in several regional sessions. Future aspirants should keep an eye on these actual milestones in 2026 to learn how the upcoming annual schedule will unfold.

Why the 75:25 Merit Formula Changes Rankings

Many students have assumed their rank depends only on their entrance exam score, which is not correct. In Andhra Pradesh, the final merit position that you achieve depends on a combined calculation as explained below:

  • 75% Weightage: This is a standardized performance score in the CBT entrance test.

  • 25% Weightage: This is your normalized percentage in core group subjects (MPC or BiPC) from your Intermediate Board Examinations.

As a result of this rule, even the slightest decline in marks obtained by a candidate in the board examinations leads to a steep fall in his/her engineering ranking. This formula highlights the reason behind the pause in declaring the 2026 results by APSCHE until the supplementary board marks were finalized. This pause made sure that no student lost their seat to incorrect data compilation.

How the AP EAPCET Computer-Based Test Paper is Structured

The online test layout remains uniform across exam changes. Candidates face a continuous speed test with no internal sectional timers.

  • Total Time Allotted: Exactly 180 minutes (3 hours).

  • Total Questions: 160 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

  • Total Maximum Marks: 160 marks.

  • Scoring Rules: 1 mark for each correct option.

  • Negative Marking Rule: Zero negative marks for wrong answers. Candidates should attempt every single question on the screen.

  • Bilingual Display: Questions appear simultaneously in English and Telugu (or English and Urdu at designated regional centres).

Question Distribution for Engineering (MPC)

  • Mathematics: 80 questions (Dominates 50% of the entire paper)

  • Physics: 40 questions

  • Chemistry: 40 questions

Question Distribution for Agriculture & Pharmacy (BiPC)

  • Biology (Botany + Zoology): 80 questions

  • Physics: 40 questions

  • Chemistry: 40 questions

How the Online Test Interface Operates

  • Section Shuffling: You can switch freely between subjects at any point. There is no need to finish Mathematics before opening Chemistry.

  • Question Palette: The question palette highlights your progress live at the side panel using color-coded squares.

  • Green Box: Highlights the questions which you have completed successfully.

  • Red Box: Highlights the questions which you have opened but haven't answered.

  • Grey Box: Highlighted when the question hasn't been attempted by you.

  • Action Buttons: Save & Next ensures that your response is saved while Clear Response wipes a clicked option instantly.

  • Syllabus Distribution: Even distribution of syllabus content between Intermediate 1st-Year and 2nd-Year topics.

Eligibility Criteria for AP EAPCET

To secure a rank in the final merit list, students should fulfill certain criteria related to specific academic and demographic requirements:

  • Absolute Minimum Age: The candidate must complete 16 years of age as on December 31st of the admission year. There is no maximum age limit for B.Tech/B.Pharm courses. For specialized agricultural courses, the age limit is 17 years, and there is an upper age limit as well.

  • Minimum Board Marks: General and OBC candidates should obtain at least 45% marks in their respective board exams in the group subjects of class 12. Candidates belonging to the reserved category (SC/ST) should obtain a minimum of 40% marks.

  • Entrance Test Minimum Cut-Off: General and OBC candidates need to secure at least 25% marks in the entrance exam (i.e. minimum 40 marks out of 160) to enter the rank lists. There is no minimum cut-off score for SC and ST candidates.

Why Telugu Academy Textbooks Are Important for AP EAPCET Preparation

AP EAPCET simply tests how fast you remember facts and basic formulas. Hence, do not overcomplicate this exam.

Direct Content Sourcing Mechanics

The official exam questions come directly from the state board books.

  • Direct Lines from Textbooks: Most chemistry equations, biology definitions, and physics facts are copied word-for-word from standard Telugu Academy Textbooks.

  • Same Question Models: Many math and physics problems use the exact same logic and exercises found in these state books. The exam creators simply change the numbers.

Breaking the Speed Barrier

Time is very important as far as AP EAPCET is concerned. You must solve 160 questions in 180 minutes, which means you get only 67 seconds per question. Since this time is quite less, solving long, step-by-step math proofs will make you lose time. Those securing top rankings generally do not waste time on long derivations. Instead, they memorize short formulas, faster elimination tricks, and basic atomic trends.

What National Books Often Lack

Coaching books studied at the national level often contain extra topics that are not included in the AP syllabus. This causes students to waste precious study time.

  • Right Amount of Information: Telugu Academy books give you exactly what you need for this specific exam without extra confusion.

  • Better Practice: To score high, you do not need to solve hard, advanced-level questions. You will get a much better rank if you read the Telugu Academy textbook lines twice and practice past exam papers.

How the Post-Exam Web Counselling System Works

Once the rank card is downloaded, candidates must navigate the online admission portal to lock in their seats.

    • Online Registration: Logging into the portal and processing the official counselling fee payment.

    • Certificate Verification: Attending verification online or physically at designated Help-Line Centres (HLCs).

    • Web Option Entry: Exercising choices by submitting specific college codes and preferred branches in order of priority.

    • Seat Allotment: System automatically assigns seats based on state rank, reservation category, and option choices.

    • Self-Reporting: Securing the seat by downloading the allotment letter, reporting through the online portal, and visiting the campus physically with original papers.

What Documents Must Be Maintained for Admission

You need to keep these essential physical documents safe throughout the exam cycle. Missing certificates can lead to your application being rejected during verification:

  • AP EAPCET Official Rank Card and Hall Ticket.

  • Class 12 / Intermediate Marks Memo and Transfer Certificate (TC).

  • Study Certificates from Class 6 to Intermediate (to establish local status).

  • Residence Certificate or Domicile proof for local category verification (85% local regional quota vs 15% open seats).

  • Valid Integrated Community Certificate (Caste Certificate for BC/SC/ST).

  • Parent Income Certificate (issued after January 1st to verify tuition fee reimbursement eligibility).
