Course Overview

The technology industry does not reward people who know a little about everything. The Master of Computer Science at EIMT is an 18-month, 100% online program for professionals who are ready to go deeper. Based in Zug, Switzerland, and accredited by USDLA, EURASHE, ACBSP, QAHE, AQS, and ATHEA, it is a master's degree built around two of the most in-demand specializations in technology today — Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, or Cybersecurity. You choose the direction and the program builds the expertise.

Over 18 months, you move through core computer science disciplines — software engineering, database systems, computer architecture, networking, and security — before diving into your chosen specialization. If you go the AI and Data Science route, you will work through data science foundations, machine learning, data analysis and visualization, statistics, and advanced computing research. If you choose Cybersecurity, you will cover IoT and cryptography, ethical hacking, forensic computing, Kali Linux, and application and device auditing. Either path ends with a Capstone Project tied to a real-world technology challenge.

You will work with tools that the industry actually uses — Python, JavaScript, Microsoft Azure, and Oracle SQL — taught by faculty with over 15 years of experience working inside global technology organizations. This program is for professionals who are moving into technology, moving up within it, or looking to go deeper in AI, data science, or cybersecurity. Program Curriculum

The curriculum is structured across three interconnected components — mandatory core modules, a chosen specialization, and a Capstone Project — each designed to build directly on the one before. The five mandatory modules cover the fundamentals that every serious computer science professional needs: software programming in Java, database and SQL programming, computer architecture, computer networks, and security engineering. These are not introductory topics. They are the technical bedrock that your specialization sits on. From there, you choose your path. The AI and Data Science specialization takes you through data science foundations, machine learning and artificial intelligence, data analysis and visualization, probability and statistics, and advanced computing research methods. The Cybersecurity specialization covers IoT and cryptography, networking and Kali Linux, engineering of hacking, forensic computing, and application and device audit. The program closes with a 30-credit Capstone Project — your opportunity to take everything you have learned and apply it to a real, substantive technology problem. Not a written exam. A demonstration of what you are now capable of.

Eligibility Criteria

A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent EQF Level 6 qualification in a relevant area with a minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale or 55% and above

English proficiency — IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT 58+, TOEIC 555+, PTE 50+, or Duolingo 90+

English language waivers available for native speakers and those who completed prior education in English or have at least 2 years of professional experience in an English-speaking organization.
