Job Description :

The High Court of Orissa is seeking Research Assistants to support the Chief Justice and Judges in their legal research and administrative tasks. Successful candidates will be responsible for conducting in-depth legal research, preparing case summaries and notes, researching relevant legal materials, taking notes during court proceedings, identifying key facts and issues, maintaining judgement records, and assisting with various training activities. This is a contractual job for a period of two years.

Age Limit: Candidates must not have attained the age of 33 years as of January 1st, 2024.

Eligibility Criteria:
- LLB degree/LLM degree/any higher qualification in Law from a recognized Indian university within 3 years of the application date.
- Not have more than five years of practice as an advocate (if applicable).
- Good working knowledge of computers.
- Sound mind and body with no disability hindering the job.
Selection Process: Candidates will be selected through direct recommendation by the Chief Justice or a Judge, and an open competitive process. Qualified candidates can apply for the open positions through the Registrar General. A selection committee will review applications and conduct oral interviews to assess candidates' suitability. The merit list will be prepared based on interview scores, and successful candidates will be appointed as Research Assistants.

Stipend: Rs. 30,000 per month
