Job Description :

The East Central Railway (ECR) invites applications from eligible candidates for recruitment under the Scouts & Guides Quota for various Group ‘C’ and erstwhile Group ‘D’ posts. Candidates who have actively participated in Scouts & Guides activities and meet the required qualifications are encouraged to apply for the available positions at ECR's headquarters, divisions, and Rail Wheel Plant, Bela.

Eligibility Criteria:
Group ‘C’: Candidates must have passed 12th (+2 Stage) with at least 50% marks from a recognized board, or 10th pass with Act Apprenticeship/ ITI approved by NCVT/SCVT for Technician Grade-III.
Typing proficiency (30 w.p.m. in English or 25 w.p.m. in Hindi) is required for Clerk-cum-Typist posts within two years of appointment.

Erstwhile Group ‘D’: Candidates must have passed 10th, or have ITI, or an equivalent qualification, or possess the National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) from NCVT.

For both groups, candidates must be a President Scout/ Guide/ Rover/ Ranger or Himalayan Wood Badge Holder, have been active in a Scouts organization for the last 5 years (with a Certificate of Activeness), and have attended two National/ All Indian Railways events and two State Level events.

Age Limit: Candidates must have attained the minimum age of 18 years for all positions and must not have crossed the maximum age of 30 years for Group ‘c’ posts and 33 years for Group ‘d’ posts as on 01-01-2025. However, relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable as per government directives.

Selection Process: Candidates for the Scouts & Guides Quota will be selected on the basis of a Written Test (60 marks) and Marks on Certificates (40 marks). The written test consists of 40 objective questions (40 marks) and 1 essay-type question (20 marks) on Scouts & Guides activities and general knowledge, with a 1/3rd mark deduction for wrong answers. Separate tests are conducted for Group ‘C’ and Group ‘D’ posts.

Remuneration:
Group ‘C’: Pay Level-2, Basic Pay of Rs. 19,900/-
Erstwhile Group: Pay Level-1, Rs. 18,000/-

Application Fee: For all candidates- Rs.500, and Rs.250/- for candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ Ex-servicemen/ PwBDs, Women, Minorities and Economic Backward Classes.
