Job Description :

The Department of Personnel, Chandigarh Administration invites online applications from eligible candidates for the recruitment of Clerks & Steno-Typists (English) posts under the Chandigarh Administration Group 'C' (Clerk and Steno-Typist) (Common Cadre) Recruitment Rules, 2026 on regular basis.

Clerks: 234 Vacancies
Steno-Typist: 23 Vacancies

Eligibility Criteria:

For Clerk Posts: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University;
And
Candidates must have Proficiency in Operation of Computer (Word Processing and Spread Sheets).
And
Skill Test Norms:
Typing Speed of 35 w.p.m. in English on Computer.

For Steno-Typist Posts: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University;
And
Candidates must have Proficiency in Operation of Computer (Word Processing and Spread Sheets);
And
Skill Test Norms:
Dictation: 10 Minutes @ 80 w.p.m.
Transcription: 50 minutes (on Computer) in English

Age Limit: Candidates must have attained the minimum age of 18 years and must not have crossed the maximum age of 30 years as on 26-04-2026. However, relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable as per government directives.

Selection process: Candidates will be selected based on the OMR Based Examination followed by the Typing Test (On Computer) and Proficiency Test.

Pay Scale: Pay Level-2 for Clerk Posts
Pay Level-3 for Steno-Typist Posts

Application Fee: Rs. 1000 for UR/ OBC/ Dependents of Ex-Serviceman/ EWS categories candidates
Rs. 500 for SC/ PWD/ Ex-Serviceman categories candidates
