The Board of Secondary Education, Odisha, Cuttack invites online applications for the recruitment of Odisha Secondary School Teacher Eligibility Test OSSTET, 2024. The examination will be conducted in two categories of teacher posts.

Trained Graduate Science (PCM/ CBZ)
Hindi Teacher Classical Teacher (Sanskrit)
Classical Teacher (Urdu)
Classical Teacher (Telugu)

Eligibility Criteria:
Trained Graduate Art Posts: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/ Commerce/Shastri (Sanskrit) Degree with two school subjects as Honours/ Elective/ Pass/ Optional/ Compulsory (list of school subjects at annexure-I) from a recognized university having 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ ST/ PH/ SEBC candidates)
AND
Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)/3-year integrated B.Ed.- M.Ed course from an NCTE Recognised Institution.
OR
Four-year integrated B.A.B.Ed from NCTE recognized Institution with two school subjects as Honours/ Elective / Pass/ Optional/
Compulsory (list of school subjects at annexure-I) having 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ ST /PH / SEBC candidates).
Trained Graduate Science (PCM/ CBZ) Posts: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Science/ B.Tech/ B.E. Degree with two school subjects as Honours/ Elective/ Pass/ Optional (list of school subjects at annexure-I) from a recognized university having 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ ST /PH / SEBC candidates).
AND
Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)/3-year integrated B.Ed.- M.Ed course from an NCTE Recognised Institution.
Hindi Teacher Posts: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University with Hindi as one of the Honours/ Elective/ Optional/ Pass subjects with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ ST/ PH/ SEBC candidates.)
AND
Any one of the following training qualifications.
a) Hindi Sikshyan Parangat from Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, Agra.
b) B.H.Ed. a course prescribed by NCTE, from a recognized University/ Institution.
c) B.Ed in Hindi, a course prescribed by NCTE, from Dakhin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha, Madras.
d) B.Ed from NCTE Recognised University/ Institution
Classical Teacher (Sanskrit) Posts: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Sanskrit as one of the Honours/ Elective/ Optional/ Pass subjects from a recognized university with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ ST/ PH/ SEBC Candidates)
AND
Sikshya Shastri (Sanskrit), a course prescribed by NCTE, from a Recognised University/ Institution/ B.Ed from NCTE Recognised University/ Institution
Classical Teacher (Urdu) Posts: Candidates must possess an Alim with 50% marks in aggregate (45% for PH candidates).
AND
B.Ed./ Urdu B.Ed. from an NCTE Recognised University/ Institution.
OR
B.A. (Persian) With 50% marks in aggregate (45% PH Candidates)
AND
B.Ed./ Urdu B.Ed. from an NCTE Recognised University/ Institution.
Classical Teacher (Telgu) Posts: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts having Telgu as a subject with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ ST/ PH/ SEBC) candidates)
AND
Telugu B. Ed. from a University/ Institution recognized by NCTE.
Physical Education Teacher Posts: Candidates must have passed +2 or its equivalent examination from a recognized institution.
AND
C.P.Ed./ D.P.Ed./ B.P.Ed./ M.P.Ed. From a recognized Board/ University.
Age Limit: Candidates must have attained the minimum age of 35 years and must not have crossed the maximum age of 45 years as on 31-01-2023. However, relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable as per government directives.
Examination Process: There shall be two papers of the OSSTET viz Paper-I and Paper-II.
Persons having requisite academic and training qualifications as per Category I have to appear in Paper–I of the Examination for all posts.
Persons having requisite academic and training qualification as per Category– II have to appear in Paper-II of the examination for the Physical Education Teacher posts.
The duration of the test for each paper shall be 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Qualifying Marks: The minimum pass mark in each paper is 45% (68 marks out of 150). In the case of SC/ ST/ PH/ SEBC candidates, the minimum pass mark shall be 35% (53 marks out of 150)
Application Fee: Rs.900/- for General and SEBC candidates and Rs.600/- for ST/ SC category candidates
