WBCSC 26th SET Assistant Professor Recruitment Exam Application Form

West Bengal College Service Commission invites online applications for the 26th State Eligibility Test in 33 subjects, for the posts of Assistant Professor in West Bengal.

Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from Universities/Institutions recognized by UGC with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for reserved category candidates).

Candidates pursuing their Master's degree or equivalent course or candidates who have appeared for their qualifying Master’s degree (final year) examination are also eligible to apply. In this case, candidates must complete their Master’s degree or equivalent Examination within two years from the date of the SET result with the required percentage of marks.

However, relaxation in minimum marks criteria will be applicable as per government notification.

Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for applying for SET.

Selection Process: Candidates will be selected based on two papers.

Paper-I shall consist of 50 objective-type compulsory questions, each carrying 2 marks. The questions which will be general, are intended to assess the teaching, and research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness of the candidate.

Paper II shall consist of 100 objective-type compulsory questions, each carrying 2 marks which will be based on the subject selected by the candidate. All the questions of Paper – II will be mandatory, covering the entire syllabus of earlier Paper- II & Paper - III (including all electives, without options). The candidate will have to mark the responses for questions of Paper – I and Paper – II on the OMR Sheet provided along with the test booklet.

Application Fee: Rs.1300/- for General candidates, Rs.650 for OBC/EWS candidates, Rs.325 for SSC/ST/PWD/Transgender candidates.
