Job Description

Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB), Jaipur has invited online application forms in the prescribed format from eligible candidates for the Common Eligibility Test (Senior Secondary Level) – 2026 for recruitment to the below-mentioned services/posts. The CET (Senior Secondary Level) 2026 now includes the following additional posts through subsequent departmental amendments and notifications: 

  • Junior Assistant under the Rajasthan Panchayati Raj Service. This was notified by the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department on 04 September 2023.
  • Junior Assistant under the Rajasthan State Agricultural Marketing Board (Service), pursuant to the Board's office order dated 07 June 2023 and amendments made to the Rajasthan State Agricultural Marketing Board (Service) Regulations, 1977.
  • Junior Assistant under the Rajasthan Agricultural Produce Market Committee (Mandi Samiti Employees) Service. This was notified by the Agriculture (Group-II) Department on 07 December 2022.
  • Clerk Grade-II under the Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan Employees (Amendment) Service Rules, 2024, as per order dated 22 August 2024.
  • Junior Assistant under the Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board Employees Service Rules and Regulations, 1993 (as amended). This was notified on 28 August 2024.
  • Junior Assistant under the Jaipur Development Authority Subordinate Service, as notified on 21 November 2024.

Important Application Dates

  • Application Start Date: 24 June 2026
  • Last Date to Apply: 23 July 2026

The Board has advised candidates not to wait until the last date to avoid technical issues due to heavy traffic.

Eligibility Criteria: Candidates should have the educational qualification in line with the service rules applicable to the post for which they want to apply. Please note that there is no specified common qualification in the notification. But the examination will be held at the level of Senior Secondary i.e. 10+2 for posts as per the Common Eligibility Test (Senior Secondary Level).

Age Limit: As per the eligibility requirements for the CET (Senior Secondary Level) – 2026, the candidate should:

  • Be at least 18 years old as of 1 January 2027; and
  • Not be more than 40 years old on that date.

The age criteria will be determined according to the relevant Government notifications and rules for services of the concerned posts.

Nationality

A candidate must be one of the following:

  • A citizen of India.
  • A citizen of Nepal.
  • A citizen of Bhutan.
  • A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India.
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma (Myanmar), Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire (now DR Congo), or Ethiopia with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Reserved candidates belonging to the last four categories need to provide an eligibility certificate from the Government of India.

Minimum Qualifying Marks

According to the Notification by the Personnel Department dated 03 August 2024, candidates need to score at least 40% marks in the Common Eligibility Test (Senior Secondary Level) - 2026 in order to be eligible for the next step of the recruitment process like the written test or interview or both, for all those posts which come under the CET.

Candidates who belong to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) are eligible for a relaxation of up to 5% in the minimum qualifying marks.

  • The above fee is a One-Time Registration (OTR) fee. Candidates who have already paid the OTR fee do not need to pay it again.
  • Candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, MBC, or EWS categories of states other than Rajasthan will be treated as General Category candidates for fee purposes and must pay the ₹600 OTR fee.

RSSB CET (Senior Secondary Level) 2026 Selection Process

The Common Eligibility Test (CET) – Senior Secondary Level 2026 is only a qualifying examination and does not guarantee appointment to any post. Those candidates who clear the CET exam and get a valid score will be eligible for participating in the post-specific recruitment process for that specific post.

Detailed Selection Process

Phase 1: Complete One-Time Registration (OTR)

Before the application process, the candidate has to do One Time Registration (OTR) at the Rajasthan SSO portal by furnishing his/her personal information, education qualification, category information, Aadhaar, mobile number, and email ID.

If the candidate has not paid the OTR Fee earlier, then the candidate has to pay the prescribed OTR Fee using any of the following methods:

  • e-Mitra Kiosk
  • Common Service Centre (CSC)
  • Net Banking
  • Debit Card
  • Credit Card

OTR information should be entered carefully, as it will be used during the recruitment process.

Phase 2: Submit the Online Application

Once the OTR is completed, login to the SSO Portal. Next, open the Recruitment Portal and fill up the online application for Common Eligibility Test (Senior Secondary Level) - 2026.

Applicants must cross-check all pre-filled information, choose their reservation category (if applicable), and submit the application before the deadline.

Phase 3: Appear for the Common Eligibility Test (CET)

The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) will conduct the Common Eligibility Test (Senior Secondary Level) – 2026 in offline (OMR-based) mode.

CET is proposed to be conducted by the Board from 23 October 2026 to 25 October 2026. The examination will consist of:

  • 120 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • 240 Marks
  • Duration: 2 Hours 30 Minutes
  • Negative Marking: One-third (⅓) mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
  • Subjects: History of Rajasthan, Art & Culture of Rajasthan, Geography of India, Geography of Rajasthan, Indian Political System (with special reference to Rajasthan), Economy of Rajasthan, General Science, Logical Reasoning & Mathematics, Current Affairs, Public Health, Computer Knowledge, General Hindi and General English

Candidates are also required to follow the OMR Answer Sheet guidelines, such as choosing Option “E” in case of unanswered questions. In case you do Not choose any option for more than 10% of questions, it can cause disqualification.

CET Attempts

Candidates can attempt the Common Eligibility Test (CET) an unlimited number of times to improve their scores, and the highest valid score available before a recruitment process will be considered.

The validity of the CET (Senior Secondary Level) – 2024 score expired on 16 February 2026 (one year validity). Accordingly, candidates who had appeared in the CET (Senior Secondary Level) – 2024 must submit a fresh application for the CET (Senior Secondary Level) – 2026.

Phase 4: Qualify the CET

Candidates must secure the minimum qualifying marks prescribed by the Rajasthan Government to become eligible for the next stage of recruitment.

  • Minimum Qualifying Marks: 40%
  • SC/ST candidates: Up to 5% relaxation in the minimum qualifying marks.

Qualifying the CET only makes candidates eligible for post-specific recruitment and does not guarantee selection or appointment.

Validity of CET Score

As per the Personnel Department's notification dated 16 January 2025, the CET (Senior Secondary Level) score shall remain valid for three years from the date of declaration of the examination result.

Phase 5: Participate in the Post-Specific Recruitment Process

Candidates who qualify the CET will become eligible to participate in the recruitment process for the respective post. Depending on the applicable service rules, the selection process may include:

  • Written Examination
  • Interview (where applicable)
  • Written Examination and Interview (as prescribed under the relevant service rules)

The detailed selection process, exam pattern, and eligibility requirements will be notified separately by the concerned recruiting authority for each post.

Phase 6: Final Selection

The final selection will be made by the concerned recruiting authority based on:

  • Performance in the post-specific recruitment process
  • Category-wise merit
  • Availability of vacancies
  • Fulfillment of educational qualification, age, experience (where applicable), document verification, and other eligibility conditions prescribed under the relevant service rules.

Qualifying the CET alone does not entitle a candidate to appointment.
