Maitreyi College in New Delhi is a women’s college under the University of Delhi and was founded in 1967 and now hosts around 4,000 students taught by more than 300 faculty and support staff across 17 departments. 

The college earned an A++ grade from NAAC and holds “Star College” status for its science departments, awarded by the Government of India’s biotechnology authority. 
Maitreyi offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in science, commerce, and humanities, supported by strong research opportunities through its Centre for Research. The campus features modern labs, a large library, sports facilities, and a girls’ hostel, making it a well-rounded institution for academic learning and overall development.

Maitreyi College (University of Delhi) has issued a new recruitment notification (Advt. No. MT/Estab./2025/01) on 6 December 2025, inviting applications for 26 Assistant Professor posts, in the Academic Pay Level- 10 (as per 7th Central Pay Commission).

The vacancies cover departments like Botany, Chemistry, Commerce, English, History, Physics, Political Science, Punjabi, Sociology, and Zoology with some reserved for SC/ST/OBC/EWS and certain for persons with benchmark disabilities (PwBD).
