Job Description :

The Jammu & Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) is inviting online applications from eligible candidates for the recruitment of Sub-Inspector (Telecommunication) in the Home Department. As a sub-inspector, your role will be leading the telecommunication team in ensuring uninterrupted communication. It involves planning, installing, and maintaining communication infrastructure, such as telephone lines and wireless systems. The position requires team management and coordination with other departments for maintenance and upgrades.

Sub-Inspector (Telecommunication) in Home Department: 83 Vacancies

Eligibility Criteria:

DOMICILE: The candidate shall be domiciled in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and must possess a valid Domicile Certificate issued by the Competent Authority.

The Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are not eligible for these posts.

Education Qualification- 4-year degree as Bachelor of Engineering/ Bachelor of Technology in any of the following streams, namely,
- Computer Science Engineering
- Electronics & Communication Engineering
- Telecommunication Engineering
- Information Technology
- Mechatronics
- Data Science
- Electrical and Electronics Engineering
- Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning;
- Cyber Security.
Age Limit: Candidates must have attained the minimum age of 18 years and must not have crossed the maximum age of 28 years as on 01-01-2025. However, relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable as per government directives.

Selection Procedure:
1. Written Examination: Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and in the English language only. There will be a Negative Marking of one-fourth marks for each wrong answer.
2. Physical Standard Test: Candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in the written test.
3. Physical Endurance Test: qualifying nature only.
4. Medical Examination
Syllabus: The Syllabus for the posts shall be notified separately and made available on the official website of JKSSB.

Physical Requirements:

A) For Males:

Height- 5’-6” (minimum)

Long Race: 1600 meters in 6 ½ minutes

Pushups: 20 (one cycle of up and down to be counted as one)

B) For Females:

Height- 5’-2” (minimum)

Long Race: 1000 meters in 6½ minutes

Shot put(4Kgs): 14 ½ feet in three attempts.

Pay Scale: Pay Level 06

Application Fee: Rs.600/- for SC/ ST/ EWS category candidates
Rs 700/- for all other category candidates
