Indian Air Force AFCAT 02/2026 Courses Commencing July 2027

Indian Air Force invites online applications from eligible candidates for the courses commencing in July 2027 for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches applications are also invited for NCC Special Entry Scheme (For flying branch).

Eligibility Criteria: 

Flying Branch: Candidates should have mandatorily passed with Mathematics and Physics at 10+2 level
And
Graduation with minimum three years degree course in any discipline from a recognized University.
OR
B.E/B.Tech degree (Four years course) from a recognised University.
OR
Candidates who have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University.

Ground Duty (Technical) Branch:

Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics): Candidates should have passed with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level. Candidates who have undergone MSc Electronics with BSc in Physics
OR
a minimum of four years degree graduation/integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/ Technology from recognized University
OR
cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India.

Age Limit:
For Flying Branch through AFCAT and NCC Special Entry: Candidates must have attained the minimum age of 20 years and must not have crossed the maximum age of 24 years as on 01-07-2027. Candidates born between 02 July 2003 to 01 July 2007 (both dates inclusive).

For Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branch: Candidates must have attained the minimum age of 20 years and must not have crossed the maximum age of 26 years as on 01-07-2027. Candidates born between 02 July 2001 to 01 July 2007 (both dates inclusive). However, relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable per government rules.

Selection Process: Candidates are selected on the basis of a Written exam followed by Physical and Medical Tests.

Date and Duration of Training Period: Training is scheduled to commence in the first week of July 2027 for all courses. The approximate duration of training for Flying and Ground Duty (Technical) Branches is 62 weeks and that of Ground Duty (Non-technical) Branches is 50 weeks at Air Force Training Establishments.

Pay Scale: Basic pay of Rs. 56100 - 177500 for Flying Officer posts

Examination Fee: Rs. 550
Candidates registering for NCC Special Entry are not required to pay.
