INCOIS is a leading institute in the field of operational Oceanography with a specific objective to provide oceanographic information and advisories to the public and other stakeholders. INCOIS is the National Oceanographic Data Centre which collects/ gathers and archives large amounts of oceanographic data, that are vital for operational and research activities. INCOIS possesses world-class research infrastructure that includes a state-of-the-art high computational facility, wet and dry labs, and a well-equipped library.

Eligibility Criteria:

Research Associate Post:
With Doctoral degree: Candidates must have possess a Ph.D in Seismology/ Physics/ Geophysics/ Earth Sciences, Oceanic Sciences/ Marine Sciences/ Marine Biology/ Atmospheric Sciences/ Climate Sciences/ Meteorology/ Oceanography/ Physical Oceanography/ Chemical Oceanography/ Physics/ Mathematics.
OR
With Master’s degree: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in Seismology/ Physics/ Geophysics/ Earth Sciences, Oceanography, Atmospheric Science, Ocean Technology or Ocean Engineering and have three years of research, teaching, or design and development experience with at least two research papers in Science Citation Index (SCI) journal.

Junior Research Fellow Post:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in any branch of Science or Engineering and cleared national level Ph.D eligibility test conducted by CSIR-UGC NET/ UGC NET/ ICAR NET (Lectureship/ Assistant Professorship/Ph.D Eligibility only) / GATE/ JEST.

Candidates should have studied Physics OR Mathematics OR Chemistry as one of the Elective/Subsidiary subjects at bachelor's degree level.

The Candidates should have at least 60% aggregate marks for General and OBC Category (55% for SC, ST, EWS and PwBD-Divyangjan) in the Master’s degree.

The UGC/CSIR Fellowship/Lectureship/Ph.D. Eligibility only or any other eligibility test results of the applicant should be valid until September 2025.

Upper Age Limit: Candidates must not have crossed the maximum age of 35 years for the Research Associate post and 28 years for the Junior Research Fellow post as on 31-01-2025. However, relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable as per government directives.

Selection Process: Candidates will be selected on the basis of a Written test followed by an Interview.

Emoluments: Rs. 67,000 for Research Associate post
Rs. 37,000 for Junior Research Fellow post
