Job Description :

Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd invites online applications from eligible candidates for engagement of Apprentices (Trade Apprentices, Graduate Apprentices, and Technician Apprentices) for the year 2025-26 under the Apprentices Act, 1961.

Name of the Post and Number of Vacancies Advertised: 220 Apprentices

Trade Apprentice (Ex-ITI): 80 Vacancies
Trade Apprentice (Fresher): 40 Vacancies
Graduate Apprentices: 40 Vacancies
Technician Apprentices: 60 Vacancies

Eligibility Criteria:
Trade Apprentices (Ex-ITI): Candidates must have passed the All India Trade Test (AITT) for the Craftsmen Training Scheme and possess a National Trade Certificate (NTC) issued by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT), Government of India in the respective trade.

Trade Apprentices (Fresher): Candidates must have passed Class 10th standard/ Madhyamik or equivalent examination from a recognized Central/ State Board.

Graduate Apprentices: Candidates must possess a Degree in Engineering or Technology granted by a Statutory University or by an Institution empowered to grant such degree by an Act of parliament in the respective subject fields.

Technician Apprentice: Candidates must possess a Diploma in Engineering granted by a State Council or Board of Technical Education established by a State Government/ by University in the respective subject fields.

Age Limit: Candidates must have attained the minimum age of 14 years and must not have crossed the maximum age of 26 years as on 01-12-2025. However, relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable as per government directives.

Selection Process: Candidates will selected on the basis of a merit list. Selection shall be made based on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

Period of Training: 12 Months

Stipend: Rs. 8,200/- 1st year and Rs. 9,020/- 2nd year in Kolkata for Trade Apprentice (Fresher)
Rs. 9,600/- in Kolkata and Rs. 10,560/- in Ranchi for Trade Apprentice (Ex-ITI)
Rs.15,000/ in Kolkata and Rs.12,500/- in Ranchi for Graduate Apprentice
Rs.10,900/- in Kolkata and Ranchi for Technician Apprentice

Candidates applying for Graduate and Technician Apprentice positions are suggested to enroll themselves in the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) Portal of the Ministry of Education. If candidates have not enrolled so far, candidates may register at http://nats.education.gov.in
