CSIR-North East Institute of Science and Technology, Jorhat, is a premier research institute under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) an Autonomous Body of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India. It is involved in multidisciplinary R&D programmes of both basic and applied nature across various scientific disciplines for economic, environmental, and societal benefits for the people of India. The Institute is equipped with sophisticated state-of-the-art analytical and other equipment, lab and pilot facilities to carry out research activities in frontier areas of Science.

CSIR-North East Institute of Science and Technology invites online applications from eligible candidates for the recruitment of Technician, and Technical Assistant positions.

Name of the Post and Number of Vacancies:

Technician: 07 Vacancies
Technical Assistant: 10 Vacancies

Eligibility Criteria: The candidate must have fulfilled the minimum eligibility criteria as required educational and professional qualification, experiences if any, and other important guidelines as suggested in the official advertisement to be eligible for consideration for said post.

Age Limit: Candidates must not have crossed the maximum age of 28 years as on 06-06-2025. However, relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable as per government directives.

Selection Process: Candidates will be selected on the basis of two stages exam pattern
Stage-I: Trade Test, Those who qualify in the Trade Test will be invited for the second stage where the candidate has to appear in a competitive written examination consisting of Paper-I, Paper-II, Paper-III.

Stage-II: Competitive Written Examination of three papers

The Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidates in Paper-II and Paper-III.

Pay Scale: Pay Level of 02 for Technician
Pay Level of 06 for Technical Assistant

Application Fee: Rs.500/-
SC/ ST/ PwBD/ Women/ CSIR Employees are exempted from payment of application fee.
Candidates are suggested to pay the application fee online.
