    Job Description :

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation, in short EPFO, is a big and important government organization in India. EPFO is like a piggy bank for working people and was introduced to help workers save money for their future. When someone gets a job in a company, a small part of their salary is saved every month. This saved money is called Provident Fund or PF.

But that’s not all — the employer company also contributes the same amount of money to the worker’s PF account. The money which has been deposited keeps growing over a period of time.  When the person retires, gets sick or leaves the job, they can use this money. This is helpful when they are old, not earning or facing tough times.

EPFO works under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, which is part of the Government of India. It follows rules made to protect workers. EPFO makes sure that the PF money is safe and secure, the workers get their money on time and all companies are following the law.

EPFO doesn’t just take care of savings. It also gives pension which is monthly money given to retired workers to help them live comfortably. Moreover, it provides insurance, in case a worker dies while working, their family gets money to help them. So, EPFO helps a worker not just during their job but even after they retire or if something bad happens.

EPFO is for people working in private companies, government-backed organizations or any business with 20 or more workers (in most cases).
Both employers (the company) and employees (the workers) take part in the scheme. Everyone has a UAN (Universal Account Number) which is like a PF account number. It stays the same even if the worker changes jobs.

Union Public Service Commission EPFO invites online applications from eligible candidates for the recruitment of Enforcement Officer and Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner in the Employees Provident Fund Organisation.

The job role of APFO includes helping companies understand and follow EPFO rules, checking company records, taking action if companies don’t follow the law, talking to workers and solving their PF problems and handling legal matters related to PF.
