  Job Description :

  State Level Police Recruitment Board, Assam, invites online applications from eligible candidates for the recruitment of Constable (UB) and Constables (AB) in the Assam Police.

  Name of the Post and Number of Vacancies: 1715 Vacancies

  Constable (UB): 1052 Vacancies
  Constables (AB): 663 Vacancies

  Important Dates:

  Last Date of Online Application: 16-01-2026

  Eligibility Criteria:

  Constable (UB): Candidates must have passed H.S. or Class XII from Government recognized Board or Council.

  Constable (AB): Candidates must have passed H.S.L.C or Class-X from Government recognized Board or Council. 

  Age Limit: Candidates must have attained the minimum age of 18 years must not have crossed the maximum age of 25 years as on 01-01-2026. However, relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable as per government directives.
      
  Selection Process:

  For Constable (UB) Both Male & Female: Candidates will be selected on the basis of Physical Efficiency Test (PET) of 40 marks, Written Test of 50 marks, Oral/ Viva-Voce of 05 marks followed by the Academic of 05 marks.

  For Constable (AB) Male: Candidates will be selected on the basis of Physical Efficiency Test (PET) of 60 marks, Written Test of 50 marks, followed by the Oral/ Viva-Voce of 05 marks.

  For Constable (AB) Female: Candidates will be selected on the basis of Physical Efficiency Test (PET) of 40 marks, Written Test of 50 marks, followed by the Oral/ Viva-Voce of 05 marks.

  Scale of pay: Rs.14,000 - 70,000/-

  Driver Constable in Assam Police: 127 Vacancies
  Constable (Dispatch Rider): 14 Vacancies
  Constable (Messenger): 20 Vacancies
  Constable (Handymen) in APRO: 03 Vacancies

  Driver Operator in Fire & Emergency Services: 04 Vacancies
  Driver Constable: 07 Vacancies
  Driver in Forest Department: 106 Vacancies

  Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must have passed HSLC or equivalent examination passed from a recognized Board or Council.

  For the post of Constable and Driver Constable: Candidates must possess valid driving license for LMV or MMV or HMV.

  For the post of Driver and Driver Operator in F & ES: Candidates must possess valid driving license for HMV.

  Age Limit: Candidates must have attained the minimum age of 18 years must not have crossed the maximum age of 25 years (40 years for Driver in Forest Department) as on 01-01-2026. However, relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable as per government directives.
      
  Selection Process: Candidates will be selected on the basis of Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Medical Examination, Physical Standard Test (PST), Driving Test (Skill Test) Written Test followed by Oral/Viva Voce.

  The final merit lists will be prepared based on marks scored in the Trade Proficiency Test (TPT).

  Scale of pay: Rs.14,000 - 70,000/-
