Gauhati High Court Recruitment 2026: 35 Stenographer Vacancies

The Gauhati High Court at Guwahati invites applications from eligible candidates for the direct recruitment of Stenographer Grade-II in the district courts of Assam.

Educational Qualification: The candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree from a UGC recognized University.
And
Should possess a Diploma/ Certificate in stenography/ shorthand from ITI/ Polytechnic/ any other recognized institute.
And
Must have adequate knowledge of the official language (Assamese) of the State of Assam.
And
The candidate must furnish Employment exchange registration number for the state of Assam as the post are of District Courts of Assam.

Age Limit: Candidates must have attained the minimum age of 18 years and must not have crossed the maximum age of 40 years as on 30-07-2026. However, relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable per government rules.

Selection Process: The candidate will be selected on the basis of Stenography Test of 100 marks, Written Test for 70 marks, followed by the Viva voce of 10 marks.

Pay Scale: Rs. 22,000 - 97,000/-

Application Fee: Rs.250/- for SC/ ST(P)/ ST(H) category candidates
Rs. 500/- for all other candidates
PWBD category candidates are exempted from the application fee.
