Job Description :

Western Railway invites online applications from eligible candidates for the engagement of Apprentices for training in the designated Trades under the Apprentice Act 1961 at various Divisions and workshops within the jurisdiction of Western Railway for the year 2025-26.

Name of the Post and Number of Vacancies: 5349 Apprentices Positions in various departments under BCT Division, BRC Division, ADI Division, RTM Division, RJT Division, BVP Division, PL W/Shop, BVP W/Shop, DHD W/Shop, PRTN W/Shop, SBI ENGG W/Shop, and SBI SIGNAL W/Shop.

Commencement of Online Application: 21-02-2026
Last Date of Online Application: 23-03-2026

Eligibility Criteria: The candidate must have passed the Matriculate or 10th Class in the 10+2 examination system with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from the recognized Board.

Technical Qualifications: Candidates must have an ITI certificate affiliated with NCVT/ SCVT is compulsory in relevant trade.

Age Limit: Candidates must have attained the minimum age of 15 years and must not have crossed the maximum age of 24 years of age as of 23-03-2026. However, relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable as per government directives.

Selection Process: Selection will be done based on a merit list prepared for all the eligible candidates. The merit list will be prepared based on average marks obtained in Matriculation and ITI exam. Short-listed candidates will be called for document/ certificate verification.

Training Period and Stipend: Selected candidates will be engaged as apprentices for the period of one year and will be paid a stipend during their training as per extant rules.

Application Fee: Rs. 100/-
SC/ ST/ PWD/ Women candidates are exempted from payment of the application fee.
