Job Description :

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) invites online applications from eligible candidates for the Civil Services Examination.

All candidates are requested to carefully read the Rules of Civil Services Examination notified by the Government (Department of Personnel and Training) and this Notice of Examination is derived from these Rules. The Candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill all eligibility conditions for admission to the examination. Their admission to all the stages of the examination will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions.

Eligibility Criteria: The candidate must possess a graduate degree from any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification.

Age Limit: Candidates must have attained the minimum age of 21 years and must not have crossed the maximum age of 32 years as on 01-08-2025. Candidates must have been born not earlier than 2nd August 1993 and not later than 1st August 2004. However, relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable as per government directives.

Plan of Examination:
The Civil Services Examination will consist of two successive stages (vide Appendix I Section-I)
(i) Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective type) for the selection of candidates for the Main Examination; and
(ii) Civil Services (Main) Examination (Written and Interview) for the selection of candidates for the various Services and posts noted above.

Application Fee: Rs. 100
Female, SC/ST, and Persons with Benchmark Disability candidates are exempted from paying the examination fee.
