SSC Combined Hindi Translators Exam 2026 Application Form

The Staff Selection Commission invites online applications from eligible candidates for the Competitive Computer Based Examination for direct recruitment to Group ‘B’ Non Gazetted posts of Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translation Officer, Junior Translator, Senior Hindi Translator, Senior Translator and Sub-Inspector (Hindi Translator) for various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations of the Government of India.

Junior Translation Officer (JTO) in Central Secretariat Official Language Service (CSOLS)
Junior Translation Officer (JTO) in Armed Forces Headquarters (AFHQ)
Junior Hindi Translator (JHT)/ Junior Translation Officer (JTO)/ Junior Translator (JT) in various Central Government Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations
Senior Hindi Translator (SHT)/ Senior Translator (ST)/ Senior Translation Officer (STO) in various Central Government Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations

Eligibility Criteria: The candidate must possess Master’s degree of a recognized University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level;
Or
Master’s degree of a recognized University in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level;
Or
Master’s degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of a examination at the degree level;
Or
Master’s degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level;
Or
Master’s Degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level
And
Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa or two years’ experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Government Office, including Government of India Undertaking.

Age Limit: Candidates must have attained the minimum age of 18 years and must not have crossed the maximum age of 30 years as on 01-08-2026. However, relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable as per government directives.

Scheme of Examination: The Examination will consist of Objective Type and multiple choice Questions. The questions will be set in English Language only.

There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I.

Pay Scale: Pay Level - 6 for all other posts
Pay Level - 7 for Senior Hindi Translator posts

Application fee: Rs.100/-
SC/ ST/ PwBD/ Ex-Servicemen/ Female candidates are exempted from payment of any application fees.
