Job Description :

State Level Police Recruitment Board, Assam, invites online applications from eligible candidates for the recruitment of Driver Constable, and Constable Posts in Assam Police, APRO, Fire & Emergency Services, and Forest Department.

Name of the Post and Number of Vacancies:

Sub-Inspector: 102 Vacancies

Sub Inspector (UB) in the Assam Police: 48 Vacancies
Sub Inspector of Police (Communication) in APRO: 04 Vacancies
Station Officer: 06 Vacancies
Squad Commander in F & ES: 05 Vacancies
Assistant Jailor in Prison Department: 39 Vacancies

Eligibility Criteria:

Sub Inspector (UB) & Assistant Jailor: Candidates must possess a graduate degree in Arts/ Science/ Commerce or equivalent stream from a recognized College/ Institution affiliated to a recognized University.

Station Officer & Squad Commander: Candidates must possess a graduate degree in B.Sc. with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics from a recognized College/Institution affiliated to a recognized University.

Sub Inspector of Police Communication: Candidates must possess a graduate degree in B.Sc. (Electronics Science/ IT/ Computer Science) (10+2+3 duration)
or
3-year Diploma from State Polytechnic in Electronics and Tele Communication, or Electronics or Information Technology, or Instrumentation or Computer Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent with 2 years work experience in the field of Electronics, Telecom, IT or allied environment.
or
3-year Diploma from State Polytechnic in Electronics and Tele Communication, or Electronics or Information Technology, or Instrumentation or Computer Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent and 2 years additional course/ courses in Telecommunication/ IT/ Computer Science/ Computer Engineering or equivalent.
or
Master of Computer Application (MCA)

Age Limit: Candidates must have attained the minimum age of 20 years, must not have crossed the maximum age of 24 years (26 years for UB, and Communication).

Candidates must have attained the minimum age of 21 years must not have crossed the maximum age of 40 years for Assistant Jailor as on 01-01-2026. However, relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable as per government directives.

Selection Process: Candidates will be selected on the basis of a Written Test of 100 marks, Physical Efficiency Test (PET) of 40 marks, NCC of 05 marks, followed by the Oral/Viva Voce of 05 marks.

Scale of pay: Rs.14,000 - 70,000/-

Constable (AB) in Assam Commando Battalions: 03 Vacancies

Eligibility Criteria:

Sub Inspector (AB): Candidates must be a graduate in Arts/ Science/ Commerce or equivalent stream from a recognized College/ Institution affiliated to a recognized University.

Constable (AB): Candidates must pass HSLC or Equivalent examination from a recognized Board or Council.

Age Limit: Candidates must have attained the minimum age of 20 years, must not have crossed the maximum age of 24 years for Sub Inspector posts.

Candidates must have attained the minimum age of 18 years, must not have crossed the maximum age of 21 years for Constable posts as on 01-01-2026. However, relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable as per government directives.

Selection Process: Candidates will be selected on the basis of Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Medical Examination followed by Physical Standard Test (PST).

Written Test only for Sub Inspector (AB).

Psychometric Test for both Sub Inspector (AB) & Constable (AB).
