    Job Description :

    The NTA has been entrusted by the University Grants Commission (UGC) with the task of conducting UGC-NET which is a test to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for the ‘award of Junior Research Fellowship and appointment as Assistant Professor’, ‘appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to Ph.D.’ and ‘admission to Ph.D. only’ in Indian universities and colleges.

    Date of Examination: 01 January 2025 to 19 January 2025

    Eligibility Criteria: The candidate must possess a Master’s Degree or equivalent examination with at least 55% marks from universities/ institutions recognized by UGC.

    Age Limit: Candidates must not have crossed the maximum age of 30 years for JRF posts as on 01-01-2025. However, relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable as per government directives.

    There is no upper age limit in applying for Assistant Professor and Admission to PhD.

    Selection Process: Candidates will be selected on the basis of a computer-based Test (CBT) mode only. There is no negative marking for incorrect responses.

    Pattern of Examination: The Test paper will consist of two sections. Both sections will consist of objective-type, multiple-choice questions. There will be no break between the papers.

    Paper I: The questions in Paper I intend to assess the teaching/ research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, reading comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness of the Candidate.

    Paper II: This is based on the subject selected by the candidate and will assess domain knowledge.

    Application Fee: Rs. 1150/- for General candidates, Rs. 600 for EWS/ OBC-(NCL) candidates, and Rs. 325 for SC/ ST/ PWD candidates.
    Candidates are suggested to pay the application fee online.
