Job Description :

North Eastern Railway, Gorakhpur invites online applications from eligible candidates for the direct recruitment of Scouts & Guides Quota for the year 2024-25 for Group ‘C’ posts in Level-2 (6th CPC Grade Pay Rs.1900) and erstwhile Group ‘D’ posts in Level-1(6th CPC Grade Pay Rs.1800) on North Eastern Railway and Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW)/ Varanasi.

Eligibility Criteria:-

Group ‘C’: Candidates must have passed Matriculation (10th Pass) or its equivalent with ITI in relevant trade recognised by SCVT/ NCVT.

Erstwhile Group ‘D’: Candidates must have passed 10th plus National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT or 10th pass plus ITI.

Scouting: Candidates must be a President Scout/ Guide/ Rover/ Ranger or Himalayan Wood Badge Holder, have been active in a Scouts organization for the last 5 years (with a Certificate of Activeness), and have attended two National/ All Indian Railways events and two State Level events.

Age Limit: Candidates must have attained the minimum age of 18 years for all positions and must not have crossed the maximum age of 30 years for Group ‘c’ posts and a maximum of 33 years for Group ‘d’ posts as on 01-01-2025. However, relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable as per government directives.

Selection Process: Candidates for the Scouts & Guides Quota will be selected on the basis of a Written Test (60 marks) and Marks on Certificates (40 marks). The written test consists of 40 objective questions (40 marks) and 1 essay-type question (20 marks) on Scouts & Guides activities and general knowledge, with a 1/3rd mark deduction for wrong answers. Separate tests are conducted for Group ‘C’ and Group ‘D’ posts.

Remuneration:
Group ‘C’: Pay Level-2, Basic Pay of Rs. 1,900/-
Erstwhile Group D: Pay Level-1, Rs. 1,800/-

Application Fee: For all candidates- Rs.500, and Rs.250/- for candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ Ex-servicemen/ PwBDs, Women, Minorities and Economic Backward Classes.
