National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT), Chennai, an autonomous R&D organization under the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India, invites online applications from eligible candidates for the direct recruitment of the following positions in various disciplines on a contract basis for various projects carried out by NIOT.

Eligibility Criteria: Candidate must possess a Graduation/ Post Graduation with a minimum of 50% of marks in Graduation/ Post Graduation examination in any of the recognized streams from a recognized university/ Institute, to the satisfaction of the Bank. Proficiency in Computer skills and knowledge of Hindi and English languages will be preferred.

Age Limit: Candidates must not have crossed the maximum age of 28 years for Junior Research Fellow, 32 years for Senior Research Fellow, 35 years for Research Associate, Project Scientist – I, 40 years for Project Scientist – II, 45 years for Project Scientist – III, 50 years for Project Junior Assistant, Project Field Assistant, Project Technician, Project Scientific Assistant posts as on 23-12-2025. However, relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable as per government directives.

Selection Process: Candidates will be selected on the basis of written test, Trade test followed by the interview.

Pay Scale: Rs. 78,000/- for Project Scientist – III
Rs. 67,000/- for Project Scientist – II
Rs. 56,000/- for Project Scientist – I
Rs. 20,000/- for Project Scientific Assistant, Project Technician, Project Field Assistant, Project Junior Assistant
Rs. 58,000/- for Research Associate (RA)
Rs. 42,000/- for Senior Research Fellow (SRF)
Rs. 37,000/- for Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
