Job Description :

Jharkhand Public Service Commission invites online applications from eligible candidates for the direct recruitment of Stenographer positions in the Jharkhand Secretariat stenographer service.

Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must possess a Graduate or equivalent from a recognized university/ institution.

Age Limit: Candidates must have attained the minimum age of 21 years as of 01-08-2024. However, relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable per government rules.

Selection Process: The examination will be conducted by the Commission based on Computer Based Test/ OMR Optical Mark Recognition. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of the candidates' normalized marks.
Under the Jharkhand Secretariat Assistant Service Selection, the recruitment for the post of Assistant will be conducted in two stages:

First Stage: Skill Test Examination (Qualifying)
Second Stage: Written Examination

There will be two papers for the skill test examination. Both papers will be conducted on the same day.

First Stage: Under this, a Hindi typing test will be conducted. In this, 500 words for the Hindi typing test will be dictated at a speed of 50 words per minute up to 10 minutes. 40 minutes will be provided to type the content on the computer. To qualify in typing, errors should not exceed 5% (five percent); otherwise, candidates will be considered ineligible.

Second Stage (150 Marks/ 90 Minutes Duration): Under this, a Computer Proficiency and Operation Examination will be conducted. It will include a question related to a tabular data set. The following tasks will need to be performed according to the instructions given in the question:

a) Type the given tabular data set in MS Word.
b) Perform formatting, alignment, sorting, and other related calculations on the data in MS Excel.
c) Prepare a Pie Chart and a Bar Chart based on the prepared data in MS Excel.
d) Create a PowerPoint Presentation with one slide in MS PowerPoint based on the prepared data in MS Excel.
e) Prepare a folder containing all the documents (from points a to d) and send it to the given address (E-mail ID).

Written Examination:

For the written exam there will be two tasks, candidates will be required to complete certain tasks. Each task will include various instructions and components. Here is a breakdown of what will be expected:

First Stage: This exam will be of 03 hours duration carrying 100 marks, and this exam contains four subjects of Knowledge of Hindi Language (25 questions, 75 marks), Knowledge of the English Language (25 questions, 75 marks), General Knowledge (25 questions, 75 marks), and Reading and writing test (25 questions, 75 marks)
The candidate must get 30% of the marks in the first stage.

Second Stage: Regional Language Test of 300 Marks.

Pay Level: Pay matrix level- 4 of Rs. 25500 - 81100/-

Application Fee: Rs. 50 for SC/ ST Candidates of Jharkhand, and Rs.100 for other candidates.
