CBT-1 refers to the first stage of the RRB NTPC UG Exam. It is a computer-based test that is conducted online. The CBT-1 test is divided into 3 main parts which include: General Awareness (40 questions), Mathematics (30 questions), General Intelligence & Reasoning (30 questions). Each question is of 1 mark and there is a negative marking of 1/3rd mark for each incorrect response. The test is generally 90 minutes in duration; however, candidates with disabilities are given some extra time to complete the exam. CBT-1 is a very crucial stage as only the candidates who qualify it are allowed to appear for CBT-2. Practicing with previous years' question papers, sample papers, and mock tests help in improving speed and accuracy. Keeping a habit of reading newspapers and doing basic maths daily helps a lot.
